We are excited to welcome you to the 2025 Western Fairs Association Convention! To help you recharge and make the most of your convention experience, we’ve put together some important details you’ll need to know before you go:
What to Pack for the Convention:
- To ensure you're fully prepared for the convention, we recommend bringing the following: casual business attire, a sweater or light jacket as the meeting rooms can be cool, socks for bowling and business cards. Our new swag station has you covered with pens and notebooks to capture all the new ideas you’ll find at the convention!
Airport Shuttle Runs:
- Convenient airport shuttle services will be available to help you get to and from the event. The shuttle leaves Reno-Tahoe airport at quarter after (:15) and quarter ‘til (:45) the hour. The shuttle leaves the hotel at the top (:00) and bottom (:30) of the hour.
Food Options at the Resort:
- No need to venture far for a great meal—everything you need is conveniently located at the Grand Sierra Resort (GSR). From casual dining to more refined options, you’ll find a variety of restaurants and eateries within the resort. In addition to the dining options listed in the QR codes below, food cart options will be available in the Grand Salon between sessions on Monday through Wednesday 7:30 AM to 10:00 AM for breakfast and 11:300 AM to 2:00PM for lunch. For added convenience, many of the resort’s restaurants offer mobile ordering, so you can enjoy your meals without missing a beat during the convention!
First stop Registration!
Upon arrival, your first stop should be the Grand Salon to check in at the Registration Desk, for your convenience the Registration Desk will be open daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Mobile-Friendly Registration: This year, we’ve gone digital! You should have received your registration and tickets via a QR code emailed to you directly. Simply scan the code at the registration desk to check in. Prefer a hard ticket? No problem – we can print your tickets on-demand at the registration desk.
Once you’ve checked in, make sure to select your convention tote bag and explore our Swag Station for even more goodies!

RECHARGE Bowling Tournament
Date & Time: Sunday, January 19th, 8:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Location: Bowling Alley
This informal kickoff to the convention is a great way to relax, connect, and enjoy some friendly competition. Pre-registration is required to bowl, but spectators are welcome to enjoy the lively atmosphere, cheer on participants, and meet new people while having fun!
RECHARGE Industry Awards Dinner
Date & Time: Wednesday, January 22nd, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Location: Reno Ballroom
Join us for an evening of celebration at the Industry Awards Dinner. We will honor outstanding industry leaders with prestigious awards, including the Barham Award, Merrill Award, and Hall of Fame recognition. It’s an inspiring night to cap off the convention.

First-Time Attendee Welcome:
Date & Time: Sunday, January 19th from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM
Location: Carson 2
Are you joining the convention for the first time? This special meet-up is designed to help first-time attendees get the most out of their experience at the 2025 Convention. Join us at 6:30 PM in Carson 2 for helpful tips on navigating the convention, a detailed review of the program, and an overview of the hotel amenities. It's the perfect opportunity to familiarize yourself with everything the event has to offer and start building connections with fellow first-timers!
